Had it out at Euronited this weekend. Great location and great weather for a show.

Checked out Oktoberfest this past weekend and then went for some Autumn photos with the Bunny to wind down the season.

After I came back from my summer trip to Newfoundland, giving it a cleaning and doing some cruising:

On to some not so good stuff.
Got caught in a construction area, pavement was stripped and there was a raised water pipe. Didn't notice it in time and it hit the subframe.

Turns out I got the wrong drivers airbag and module, still lots of work to do and figuring out how to make it all work again.

Put the car in winter mode. Lets see how I get by with being this low. I did raise the rear, but due to a collar issue up front, I cant raise those.

Its been a rough time for the Budget Bunny, but better times are ahead. Ill get the interior and airbags sorted out. Its going in for repair of the rear quarter and the front fenders are being replaced under warranty, and there are some changes planned for next season. Keeping the tight budget in mind of course.

2016 preview:



New set up is 17" 3 piece staggered Zaubers. JDM wheels so had to drill out the lug holes and use wobble bolts. Probably going to need some small spacers up front to get the stance I want. Going to strip them down and powdercoat over winter. Bye bye white faces and polished lip.

Those look good on the bunny. What colour are they going? I kind of like the white.

Damn on the blown airbags! Must have been a good crack on the subframe to blow them both out. Hopefully no injurys. Any subframe damage?

I was pretty shocked by the bags going off. I was stopped at a light, only a few cars back of the pipe. So I wasn't going fast at all. Was still close to the person ahead of me, so didn't have enough time once I saw it, and didn't want to lock up the brakes in traffic either. No real damage to the subframe, its pretty scratched up but nothing bent or broken.

Not a fan of the white, and I like the dark theme. Looking at black faces, with some sort of bronze/copper lips. Will match the roof bars to the lips and going to re-do two bikes to match the car and wheels.

Few updates, first a boring maintenance update, new brakes up front:



Drove home in some deep snow, after plowing the street for a while I realized my lip would not hold up to all the pushing it was doing. But when I got out to check it was already gone:



Put my car in the shop to get the accident damage repaired, and some warranty paint work done. Got a MK7 as a rental:

Really need to roll my fenders as right now I cant turn. Doing 4 point turns in parking lot to avoid ripping the fender off right now.

Next up is to strip down the wheels.

Rolled (hammered) my new front fender lips for some clearance, and raised my front coils a few threads so I can turn the car again. Plenty of height to play in the snow:



Finally got all my wheels apart:



Also got some 5mm spacers for the fronts. They were cheap so should do me for the season.

Been a while. Figured I might as well keep this somewhat updated for those that still swing by.

About a year ago now when I was playing with the new wheel set up. Going to take some adjustments to get a proper stance.
This is at winter height:





Was also dealing with usual VW stuff around that time:



Got it down to just the airbag light now

And I had that raised pipe hit that set off my airbags:



Also did a number on the subframe bolts, so they got upgraded:



No leaks yet, I call that a win:

And some new color. Friend already had the black and I used some leftover gold from the gf's wheels. It is the Budget Bunny afterall:



While this was happening my car stayed in winter mode all summer long. Haven't gotten around to rebuilding the summers yet:



Then I gave my winters to the gf when winter hit, so I took her summers:



Youll notice it being loaded onto a tow truck. Had an issue with starting that I couldnt track. Had to get the cluster replaced.

And finally got it into its new winter mode on 17" Mercedes wheels with a terrible spray can paint job, but the $ was right:



Having the bus here this past summer meant any free time was spent driving and enjoying it and not working on Rabbit projects. Hopefully this coming season I get the new 17s built and on, get my roof rack re-powdered, and enjoy the car again.
