CO Motorsports brings APR to NL

Postby Jeebus » May 16th, 2014, 8:40 pm

Hello everyone, CO Motorsports is one of the largest providers of performance parts and tuning for VW/Audi's throughout Atlantic Canada. As we continue to ship product and ECU's all over Canada we're also expanding our tuning footprint to NL to make it easier for you guys to get your vehicles flashed with no downtime and of course working as they should be. ;)

We've been providing ECU tuning to our NL customers for quite a few years now as folks send their ECU's to be flashed. To help prevent a lot of downtime we're now working with Lewis Martin to provide a local option for folks to have their vehicles flashed without having to send the ECU away.

This service will be available for any OBD2 flashable ECU's. All security protected ECU's will still need to be sent to us in Halifax to be bench flashed. ANY ECU that can not be flashed with the OBD2 cable by Lewis can be bench flashed in house with us. This will also cut down on downtime as there will be no need to send the ECU any further then Halifax.

I know Lewis will likely chime in here, but I figured I'd break the ice to get things rolling.

Any questions please ask away, if you're looking to get your car flashed please email myself at dave@comotorsports.ca or Lewis at Lewismartin7@me.com

Thanks
Dave Withrow

Thanks for the support guys.

With some of the newer vehicle capable of being flashed through the OBD2 port again it will make it much easier for you guys as you'll have no down time. It will also make it easier having someone there to flash the car back to a 100% stock program if there were any major service work required.

Yes this didn't work out for Lewis and I, however we are still looking for someone to be on the ground in NL to do direct port flashes.

With the numbers coming from the new MK7 tunes, and them being direct port capable there's some great potential here.

If you're interested please email me at dave@comotorsports.ca

Just want to let everyone know that this has been resurrected, I am going to be working with Dave to be his rep in these parts. Things should be up and running in the next week or so once the hardware is in place.

In the meantime, I am looking to make arrangements with someone that has a MKV 2.0T engine to do a demo flash with next week. I don't own a car with that engine, so I'm reaching out to the community for help. A demo tune would be flashed onto the car, and would take about an hour of our time. If you can help out, contact me through here or a.spearns (at) gmail.com.

Yes as Andrew Mentioned this is in full swing. Andrew and I have dealt with each other numerous times over the years and it works out great that Andrew has stepped up to help you guys out up there.

Andrew is now setup with the tools to flash MK4/MK5/MK7 and many other Audi/Porsche with APR. Once him and I sit and go over the first couple of cars together we will then move forward in getting everyone taken care of.

Stay tuned.

I'm assuming you guys are tuning MK6's as well? Because you said 4, 5, and 7, but, no 6.

At the moment unfortunately the MK6 is only capable of being flashed on a bench with the ECU out of the car, which means the ECU would need to be shipped to Dartmouth to be flashed.

However, there is good news. APR is releasing an update this weekend that will allow MK6 to be flashed through the OBDII port. I am waiting for more information on this update, but am expecting to be able to offer MK6 tuning locally in the near future.

A few days ago APR announced that DirectPort Programming would be available on ECU's that could only be bench flashed previously.

The good news is that they have now released updated files that allow most all of those ECU's to be flashed through the OBDII port.

Anyone with a MKVI Golf or Jetta, Tiguan, Toureg, and most Audi's can now be flashed on site here in St. John's. Some cars will have a free six hour driving time trial available, but this depends on the individual ECU.

Just went Stage II on my MK6 GTI today and I would definitely recommend it. The power gains are definitely worth it and dealing with Andrew was great; he is an awesome guy. He even did a few extra things with VAG-COM I wanted but completely forgot about (key fob window control, side mirror tilting for reversing, etc.).

Thanks again, Andrew!
