Grills, Fenders, any body parts will be hard to find for that car around Newfoundland in good rust free condition.

If anyone has them, they hold onto them because of their rarity.

Quad round grills are almost just as rare, considering the youngest MK2's are getting close to 25 years old they have slowly succumbed to the salt that makes up our roads.

I got a 4 head light grill off a mk2 jetta, not sure if that will work for a golf and i might have spare door handles. You said your door has a dent in it, can it be repaired?

I going to mention some things I've noticed here.

The origional poster seems to be less than truefull about her car. See claims its not the same car as the facebook one GTI linked. It clearly is (without wheels and grille spoiler) both cars have the same fenders. Both have similarly dented hood. The antenna has the same unnatural slope. The driver door has the same dent as a well as the EXACT same rust spot at the top edge of the dent. I believe she posted a couple of times its not the same car, once also saying though its not the same car, but she was there when it sold for twice the asking price. She has the car on facebook looking to sell it or for parts depending on whos asking. Selling on kijji too. Asking a rediculious price when it is for sale.
Turbo? No. Passing the car off as something its not. You may have thought or been told it was a turbo, I'll give you that. Most of us here on this site have VW knowledge much greater than average and can easily identify VW items, cars, and their quirks. We cannot be fooled, and get terribly offended when someone tries.

Local VW people are generally very nice, frendly people, who willingly share knowledge, labour and even parts. I think if we were given solid knowledge on you car, some of us would be more forthcoming with leads for you.

It is an interesting car. German miltary import I suspect, seen a few others out of Goose over the years. Not a super sought after car, but interesting.

Don't give up on it, or us. It gets better.

Murph, if that quad grille is off my old jetta coupe, it was a GTI grille origionally.

I couldn't have said it better myself!

I need.door handles because I'm sick of opening my doors from my hatch, also HaroldWebber is the owner of the gti that was posted that I said WAS NOT mine because it's not. Mine has different interior and a few other differencEs and the turbo is after market, which is true. I have no reason to lie. Was just looking for parts and after a year I got fed up and the top of the post I said OUT OF CURIOSITY... To see if there was interest. After a few nights I posted that I came to the decision to keep the car. Which I thought I was allowed to do. Anyways. I'll remove my posts and look else where. Sorry....

Yes, it seems to be a throttle body injection. Similar to what was used on '93 and other 1.8 liter golfs. When I saw the picture last night the engine looked like the one a friend had in his 93 golf, so I did a quick bit of research. I've attached an exploded view I found on line.
You'll have to imagine it together. but matches the photo.

I think the receptacle might be for a block heater? I would have used Black??? or stainless :problem:

By the way there is no way a turbo is feeding that intake, factory, aftermarket or by some magic. The air cleaner would be somewhere else and a pipe from the turbo would be there.
Let me clarify. The car might very well have a turbo charger attached to the exhaust manifold. but it would be just spinning air as it is not connected to the intake. VERY, VERY UNLIKELY. and senseless.

I was going to say it looks the exact same as the motor in my old 95 Golf.

I would have gone with one of those outdoor outlets with the covers for the outlet. A black one.

But there has to be a turbo on there somewhere somehow!

I was misled about my car and.vin number, also by Bill matthews volkswagen. The plug in is for heater block but I don't use it because it's not cold here like Labrador... Sorry, I seriously was misled and after long research & a smart man, I learner the truth. I'm disgraced and want to just give up on her, but I won't.. Anyways. Your comments can continue, but that's the end.for me.

That's unfortunate. Please fix your kijji for sale post so you don't continue to mislead others.

If I were you I'd take that stupid 120V electrical receptacle off my car as well. That shit belongs in a house not on a car.

It can still get cold enough around here to plug in a car overnight. I used to plug in my VW Fox Wagon that came from Goose all the time in the winter. There was one on my Jeep as well and I used it a few times when the temps were below -10C. Sure made cranking easier.

Get rid of what? The 120V outlet? Yes. Looks super sketchy to me and all I can think is what other butchery has the electrical on the car seen. You can keep the block heater just put a male plug (the three pronged end) on the end of the wire and ditch the 12oV outlet. Put that in the wall of your house lol.

The car? Up to you.

I don't get it... isn't the plug for a block heater a male, as it plugs into an extension cord that goes to the house... which is female?

Yup. I would venture to guess the installer of said 120V outlet may have had a cabin heater in the car as well so chopped both ends of the plugs and wired them to this or maybe - and this is just an other wild guess - because this car is a German military import there was more than one of them ;0 so therefore they had more than one plugged in a time. The 120V would allow for one car to be plugged in then a cord ran from that car to the next, to the next, to the next and so on. I just think there was really mad science going on lol
