Official NLclassifieds/Kijiji/NL Buy and Sell FS Thread

Postby Fenny » Aug 28th, 2010, 1:42 pm

I don't know if moderators want to make this an official thread or sticky as there are some good deals on nlclassifieds sometimes.

As I'm bored at work I found these...Don't know if it's a good price or not but they look ok.

This is a sweet car. Not perfect, But great for the price. Coil-overs. and well taken car of by the last two owners. I hate red, other than that it is a sweet daily driver. For someone that loves red :D

I hope a VW lover buys this Gem.

Good Job Fenny. Great finds

Now find someone to buy those rabbit wheels before I have to go and buy them. I called the guy(David) that owns the wheels. It's a screaming deal.

It costs about $100 per wheel to have it widened. This is a screaming deal. Calling Luc. Please buy these wheels so I don't have to buy them.

And for the love of Christ, Don't let that wheel whore cobbler know that those wheels are for sale.

Scott, these would be great for your autox rubber.

Those wheels were my old wheels, and when I sold my Cabrio a few weeks back I sold them with the car.

The history on the wheels is brief. I bought them on Vortex about two years ago from a guy in montreal. They're widened VW steelies and I used VW Corrado center caps with the wheels. Once I got them here they were a little rougher then what I could see in the pics online, so I took them over to Atlantic Metal Coatings and had them cleaned up, refinished and then powder coated reflex silver.

I was into those wheels for about $650 before tires, which were kindly donated by Jon Aucoin and will need to be replaced.

Hope this helps

ahhh-see

I thought that this island only had one set of widened 13's in circulation...and that they were on your rig...and also found it funny that these came off a cabby .....I didn't know you sold yours....

that puts a name to ....or wheel to a ....you know.

I noticed that they had a couple flat spots when you had them...did they balance up well?...

Actually they wern't too bad to balance out. Obviously they require more weight then a regular wheel, but it was kind of what I expected. They drive perfectly, no pulling, no driveability issues, no shimmy. Other then a few cosmetic imperfections they're fine.

Only pain in the ass is getting tires mounted on them, those sumitomo's had a slight stretch and it was a bitch trying to get those things on there (eh Fixxxer haha)

If someone doesn't buy these I might just have to.
400$ for widened steelies is to good of a deal.

Good to know I could get at least $1 for the ol' girl  I wonder could I get $2 for both of them? Well maybe a $1.50 considering the other isn't licensed

Danny

What is the backspacing and width of your old wheels? Do you have any idea how they are widened? Were they widened by sectioning the wheel and welding in a band of steel, or were they re-barreled?

Who bought them after?

They were 7.5" wide (if I remember correctly) and they were cut/sectioned with a strip of steel.

I just punted it over to my brother because he's looking for a car, I hope he buys cause he, like me, grew up with VW's and I know he'd take care of it.
