Cover looks cool. I bet that intake gives the 5cyl more of a throaty sound now.

When I had the rear muffler removed I just had one tip put back on to keep the cost down. Had to fix that:

Image

Budget Bunny needs a budget tip, $20 later:

Image

Needed a little trimming and may still cut it back a little more.

Wanted to bring some bronze to the back, and of course I cant have anything bright on the car:

Image

Image

Much better, just going to tuck it in a little more. This budget thing is a breeze ;)

Hit two crubs, three birks, then ran through a fents.

Image

No worries, still have some powder left:

No more crubbage:

Car is pretty much done, so not a lot of work being done. But I did get both of my bikes finished.

Boring update, oil change time. Actually tried one drive through oil change place but was too low. No worries.

Image

Did the VAG-COM DRL disable.
Switched out the switch for a euro one. Many more options than I need, but I just wanted it for the city lights to use as DRLs.

Was in traffic, and found an awesome manhole cover they decided to place on top of a mountain in the middle of the lane. Didnt see it until it was too late. Ugh:

Hard to see how big the dent is.

Took off the plate for a while to try the clean look. I like it both ways, and its easy to change back and forth.
Really want to change up the lower grilles and maybe get fogs.

Tried fixing up my terrible paint a little:

ImageImage

Got it all clean for SpringFling but there was plenty of rain in the forecast. Tried hiding the car away before the show but there was no avoiding it.

Image

Wet and cold day, but a great show. First time participating in any show in ON and first time for any show with the Bunny:

The gf attended the show with me in her MK6 Jetta:

Cleaning my car for the EuroSport Tuning BBQ.

Image

At the meet:

Image

There were some beautiful VWs at the meet, but not many that were there all day, and not many that registered.
Even though there were only a few to choose from, it was still nice that people voted for the Budget Bunny.

I was going back and forth on the tint, wanted to do the front to match, but in the end I went for the cleaner look of no tint. I hated having just the rear done. And it was cheaper to remove it then to get the fronts done, so perfect for the budget bunny.

Before:

Image

Tint came off easy enough, its the glue that is a pain:

Image

Getting at the rear:

Image

No more tint:

Image

After a lot of effort scrubbing the glue away:

Image

So much happier with it now, so I had to clean it and take some pics:

Image

Image

Image

Still a few more minor things to do, but it is very close to where I want it.

Mirror signals were a little too light for the rest of the car:

Used my winnings at EuroSport Tuning for some AWE Tuning pedal covers. Nice little touch as the interior is all stock.

Before (its not usually this dirty):

After (still gotta take care of the salt stains):

As I have a 77 VW Westfalia named Colonel Mustard, I had to get a pic here:

The Car is looking pretty good now if you could come across a used AWE Catback setup for that car it would sound real nice.

Unboxing the goods, projector fog light kit, with 5 bar grilles from ECS Tuning:

Before shot:

Installed, I was missing the drivers side grille at first, but ECS took care of things right away:

Looks good from this side:

And a clean outside shot:

Some $7 yellow film from Amazon:

Image

And now this:

Image

And, as I am pretty much done for now, the budget of the budget bunny.
I tried to remember everything and be as accurate as I could. I left out maintenance items. Think this is a pretty comprehensive list:

Image

The items on the right are the things I sold from the car after buying new parts, plus the certificate I won with the car at a show. $1600 total to do this:

Great job. Have you had any major maintenance issues? My temp sensor is going off. Quick google and apparently the sensor in the coolant tank needs to be either replaced or cleaned. Engine temp itself is perfect.

Nothing major. Did the two front wheel bearings, replaced the plugs, new strut mounts when I put in the lowering kit.
