B-Rabbit - 2009 Rabbit 2.5

Postby Colonel_Mustard » Sep 11th, 2014, 12:20 pm

New daily driver, 2009 Rabbit 2.5.
Got it with about 90,000. The paint is rough, has the usual front fender issues, rock chips, scratches, dings etc.
But its pretty nice overall.

Congrats! What exhaust do you have on it? Doesn't look like the stock two pipe muffler.

Had a tire issue and had to put the winters on early. Picked these wheels and tires up from VOGN'er Oakey, may become my summer wheels next season as this car is a budget daily. Too many other projects that need love.

Winters cleaned up:

Keeping with the budget, picked up some used H&R Super Sport springs from Vortex to install after the winter:

My bunny and the gf's Jetta about to suffer through winter. Hopefully a few minor changes to both come spring:

Keeping with the budget bunny idea, picked up an extra set of headlights to Joey mod. I find the headlights stand out so much on the dark front end. Plan to paint the emblem black and Joey mod the lights for a cleaner dark look. I know its a pain to separate them but that's why I bought a second pair, just in case.

Budget Bunny project rolls on haha.
Got some cheap 18" Audi TT S-line reps.
They were painted black, and the PO began to strip the paint. I plan to get them powder coated for the spring. Final color is still up in the air, but I have some ideas.

215/35. They have two good ones on them that size already so I'll go with that for now. Bit of a stretch.

Minor update, separated the metal center out of the center caps and sanded the paint off. The plastic ring will remain black as its plastic. The wheels and this center piece will be the bronze. Sanded off most of the Audi rings, Thick coat of primer and sanding should take care of whats left.

Just waiting on the primer to shoot the wheels.

Caps are done. They look really dark chocolate brown normally, but when the light hits you get that bronze metallic. Looks great.

Super happy with how they turned out, will definitely fit the theme of the car.
Got the wheels and tires, tires removed, sand blasting, primer, color, tires mounted and balanced for a total of just over $600. Perfect for a budget bunny.

Then had this happen on the drive home:

Misfire. Swapped around a coilpack and the code stayed on the same cylinder, so going to change the plugs tomorrow.
